| Historically, indoor air quality (IAQ) deteriorated because it was largely ignored as other issues were addressed. In spite of the currently increasing recognition of worldwide environmental deterioration, there is inadequate understanding and consideration of the impacts of building design, construction, operation, and demolition on the environment. This paper identifies and quantifies the magnitude of buildings' contributions to environmental problems http://kirpich.webege.com based on life cycle inventory (LCI) data categories. It describes criteria used for and results of a process to identify and weight important environmental problems.
